On iPhone, iPad and the web
The advanced MarineOS, with or without a helm on board.
- Auto Guidance, autopilot and radar (coming soon)
- Weather on the chart, longer range and offline
- The Boating Comfort Forecast
- Charts for every region, with automatic updates
- Your boat's track and history; up to 10 people
On your MarineOS Helm
Your Helm license already turns on the helm's advanced features, for good. Plus keeps adding to them.
- New MarineOS Helm versions and features: 1.1, 1.2, 2.0
- Your boat's track and history; up to 10 people
Plus adds to the Helm license; it doesn't replace it. Without a license, a helm still starts in Safety Mode after its trial.
Buy Plus on the web or in the iPhone and iPad app. It covers everyone on your account, on every device, and your helm picks it up from your account by itself.
$199 buys the chartplotter. $49 a year keeps adding to it.
MarineOS Helm is the software. Bring your own compatible hardware, starting with Raspberry Pi 5, and one $199 license covers up to 3 helm displays on your boat.
One boat. One license. No subscription required to navigate. Your Helm license is yours for good and works offline. Add Plus to get every new feature and major software release.

Good to know.
- Is any hardware included?
- No: MarineOS Helm is the software. You choose the hardware: a Raspberry Pi 5, a PiCAN-M and a touch screen, off-the-shelf parts from any supplier. The Helm page has what you need.
- How does the trial work?
- Download the image and set up your helm: everything's on for 30 days. Pair the helm with your MarineOS account and buy a license for the boat; the helm picks it up by itself.
- Will it ever lock me out at sea?
- Never. If a trial or license ends, nothing changes on the trip you're on, or for 72 hours after. Then, without a license, the helm starts in Safety Mode: enough to get home safely, not a free chartplotter.
- Do I need the internet at sea?
- No. Once activated, the helm keeps its license and checks it itself, offline, for good. It only needs a connection (Wi-Fi or your phone's hotspot) to pair and to activate.
- My boat has more than one helm.
- One license covers up to 3 helm displays on the same boat: the helm, the flybridge and the nav station.
- What if I reinstall or replace a display?
- Reinstalling on the same computer keeps its place on the license. Replacing one? Release it on the boat's page in MarineOS Cloud and pair the new one.
- I'm selling the boat.
- Hand it over from its page in MarineOS Cloud: it moves to the new owner's account with its license. Got a new boat yourself? Move your license to it (once a year).
- What updates come with the license?
- Every fix for the version you have: security, safety, reliability and compatibility. Safety fixes reach every helm, licensed or not. New versions and features (1.1, 1.2, 2.0) come with Plus.
- Does Plus unlock a helm without a license?
- No. A helm's own advanced features come with its Helm license, and Plus adds new versions to it. Without a license, after its trial, the helm starts in Safety Mode, Plus or not.
- Where do I buy Plus?
- Here on the web, in your MarineOS Cloud account, or in the MarineOS app on iPhone and iPad through the App Store (where its price may differ). Either way it's one Plus for your account: everyone on it, on every device, and your helm.
- What if Plus lapses?
- Nothing you have changes. Your helm keeps the version it has, with its fixes, for good. You stop getting new versions until you renew; renewing brings the latest straight back.
